Details of Signing Contracts for the Production of the First Domestic Electric Car

Introduction

The head of the automotive department of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in Egypt, Mohamed Abdel Aziz, revealed the details of signing contracts for the production of the first domestic electric car.

Rally Competition

He explained that the Faculty of Engineering of Ain Shams University, for the fifth consecutive season, organizes the Rally competition, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research, under the auspices of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Higher Education.

Training Egyptian Personnel

Abdel Aziz added in a telephone interview with the satellite channel Extra News that the aim of the competition is to train Egyptian personnel working in the field of electric vehicles in terms of design, production and service, in preparation for their entry into the Egyptian market. He also indicated that more than 3,000 graduates of various engineering colleges.

Signing of Contracts

The head of the Automotive Department of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University confirmed that yesterday it was marked the signing of two contracts for two Egyptian companies with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the transfer of technology and personnel. which have been prepared will enter this project through the rally competition.

Efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education

Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, witnessed the signing of contracts for the development and production of the first Egyptian locally produced electric vehicle with companies from the private sector.

He referred to the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education in the field of home-made electric vehicles and explained that the strategic plan of the ministry places great emphasis on creating an encouraging and stimulating environment for the production and localization of technologies, stressing that the ministry has comprehensive plans for the development of the electric vehicle industry.

Program for Local Production

For his part, Mahmoud Saqr, president of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, said that the signing of contracts for the design and production of the first locally produced Egyptian electric vehicle is part of a program to transfer and develop products and deepen local production, which was launched by the Academy in February 2023. The program aims to promote and deepen local production in the field of electric vehicles.

He added: “In 9 months we will have the first product in the form of electric vehicles”, explaining: “We will rely on the Egyptian experience in the production of electric vehicles.”
