Defense of Russia: Due to heavy losses, the Ukrainian army did not conduct new offensive operations in the south

The Russian Defense Ministry said that Ukrainian troops did not conduct offensive operations in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction in the south over the past day, after its units suffered heavy losses there.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing that Russian anti-aircraft missile and artillery forces continue to deliver pinpoint strikes on units and reserves of Ukrainian troops on the aforementioned explosion, which included several command posts and an ammunition depot, and a Russian fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian plane Su-25 in the Nikolaev region.

Konashenkov added that as a result of the heavy losses of the 59th motorized rifle brigade in several districts of Nikolaev, its personnel refused to carry out combat missions and began to arbitrarily retreat to the rear areas.

In total, enemy losses in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction amounted to 2 tanks, 6 infantry fighting vehicles, 5 other armored combat vehicles, 7 vehicles with heavy machine guns, and more than 190 personnel per day.
