Cuban President praises economic relations with Turkey

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on Sunday praised the growing economic and trade relations between his country and Turkey in many different sectors.

This is stated during a meeting with representatives of the Turkish business world in Istanbul, according to a statement released by the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey.

In its statement, the Council confirmed that the meeting was attended by prominent Cuban officials and discussed the possibilities of sectoral cooperation between Turkey and Cuba.
“Many Turkish companies are currently operating in various sectors in Cuba, but we want to increase their number in the coming period,” Bermudez said.

He added that his government would like more Turkish companies to operate in Cuba through new investment.

He pointed to the existence of joint projects between the two countries in several areas such as iron, metals and medical products, as well as cooperation in the field of energy.
