Core Inflation in Egypt Reaches All-Time High of 40.3% in February

The Central Bank of Egypt announced that the annual core inflation rate was 40.3% in February 2023, compared to 31.2% in January 2023.

The Central Bank website says that the overall urban consumer price index, released by the Central Agency for Population Mobilization and Statistics on Thursday, March 9, 2023, recorded a monthly level of 6.5% in February 2023, compared to 1.6% in the same month . the previous year and a monthly rate of 4.7% in January 2023.

Egypt’s central bank said the annual headline inflation rate stood at 31.9% in February 2023, down from 25.8% in January 2023.

The core consumer price index prepared by the Central Bank fixed a monthly rate of 8.1% in February 2023 compared to 1.2% in the same month of the previous year and a monthly rate of 6.3% in January 2023.

Annual core inflation was 40.3% in February 2023, compared to 31.2% in January 2023.
