Chinese Foreign Ministry: US fabricated Taiwan crisis to increase its military presence in the region

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi accused the US government of scheduling House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan to cause a crisis and increase its military presence in the region.

On Thursday, the Chinese military held a massive military exercise, firing missiles in six waters around Taiwan. They were supposed to end at noon on Sunday (07:00 Moscow time), but, according to the Chinese Ministry of Defense, the exercises, which began the day after Pelosi’s visit to Taipei, will last at least another day.
