Britain for the first time in 3 decades was left without Russian energy resources due to sanctions

The British Statistics Office reported that last June the kingdom was left without Russian energy resources due to sanctions imposed by the UK against Russia.

According to data released on Wednesday by the British Office for National Statistics (ONS), for the first time since January 1997, imports of all types of fuel from Russia fell to zero.

The monthly average in the 12 months to February 2022 was around £499m.

Russia was one of the largest suppliers of oil products to the UK in 2021, its share in imports reached over 24%, while its share in oil and gas imports was at around 6%.

And in June 2022, due to sanctions against Russia, there was no import of oil, gas and coal products.
