Bogdanov: Russian business is no longer afraid of sanctions and is actively working in Syria

Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, confirmed that the Russian business sector has increased interest in working with Syria since the imposition of Western sanctions on Russia, as the obsession with sanctions no longer exists.

Bogdanov said in an interview with the TASS agency: “The interest of Russian businessmen in working with Syrian partners remains and even increases. The act, the infamous American, which stipulates that everyone who cooperates with the Syrian government will be punished, now that all of Russia is “punished”, these fears no longer make any sense.

Bogdanov also criticized the term “rapid recovery” in Syria, pointing out that it is used in the context of the West’s refusal to allocate funds for a comprehensive reconstruction of Syria.

He said, “It’s not one of our terms. UN officials are mostly using it as a patchwork solution to justify the measures they are taking, however modest, to avert a humanitarian catastrophe in Syria at a time when Western donors are categorically refusing to allocate funds for comprehensive reconstruction in some then the moment “after the conflict in this country and prevent the participation of their companies in it.”
