The Hungarian company MVM announced that it had reached an agreement with the Russian company Gazprom to defer payments for gas supplies in the amount of 1.9 billion euros.

Hungary is likely to pay around €4bn for Russian gas supplies this winter, not counting deferred payments estimated at €1.9bn, according to Bloomberg.

Earlier, Hungary signed a contract with Gazprom to supply it with an additional 5.8 million cubic meters of gas per day from September 1, and the Hungarian MVM signed an agreement with Gazprom to defer gas payments in order to improve financing in the winter.

And in September last year, MVM entered into two long-term contracts with Gazprom for the supply of a total of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually through gas pipelines through Serbia and Austria, bypassing Ukraine, and the agreement is designed for 15 years and can be revised. 10 years after launch.
