Bitmain’s Interest in Hiring PhD Candidates

Cryptocurrency chip maker Bitmain has launched a campus recruitment program to scout for new talent.

In an update dated September 4, Bitmain indicated its specific interest in hiring talented PhD candidates in thermal power, machinery, electrical engineering, materials science, and related fields as part of this initiative.

Bitmain is looking for 24 graduates, both from home and abroad, with at least a master’s degree. In return, they offer three years of free dormitory accommodation or reduced rent. This recruitment campaign is not limited to China; It also covers Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.

Bitmain’s Acquisition Plans and Co-Hosting the World Digital Mining Summit 2023

This update follows Bitmain’s announcement on June 21 that it, along with cryptocurrency platform Anchorage Digital, will acquire shares in Core Scientific, then the second largest publicly listed bitcoin miner.

Core Scientific has filed for bankruptcy due to declining revenue and falling bitcoin prices. However, it should be noted that the status of this plan is still pending, and there have been no new updates to report yet.

Meanwhile, the company also co-hosted the World Digital Mining Summit 2023 (WDMS 2023) in Hong Kong from September 22-23, 2023, with the theme “Mining for the Next Emerging Market”.
