Because of a football game in Russia a vicious attack on American hockey league star Ovechkin

Last Saturday, hockey star Alexander Ovechkin took part in a friendly football match against the Amkal team in the Russian capital Moscow, but the fans of his American team, the Washington Capitals, were not happy with him.

The Russian hockey star captained the Dynamo football club against the Amkal team, wearing the number 3 shirt in honor of his father, Mikhail, who played for the Russian club.

Dynamo defeated with a devastating score of 5:0, and the famous hockey player scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute, repeating his usual holiday on the hockey grounds.

Considered the greatest hockey player in American League history with 780 goals, Ovechkin was selected as the friendly game’s MVP.

However, the player’s fans and Western social media followers were not happy with his participation in football in his home country, Russia.

The 37-year-old was greeted with negative comments and criticism, with one tweeter calling Ovechkin’s actions “disgusting and lacking all respect.” Another stated that “nothing related to Russia can be supported now.”

At the same time, some demanded that the leader of the Washington Capitals team not return and not be allowed into the United States.

It is noteworthy that Ovechkin finished the 2021-2022 season with a record in the American capital, as he became the biggest player to score more than 50 goals in the NHL American League.
