Barcelona agree to sign Lewandowski

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona for 45 million euros and 5 million bonuses, according to information published on Saturday by several German and Spanish newspapers.

The two clubs reached this agreement on the night of Friday to Saturday, according to the newspapers “Bild”, “Kicker” and “Sky Germany”, bringing the battering ram between Lewandowski and Bayern to a happy conclusion for the Pole, who refused to end his career with the Bayern club after entering to its historical record.

For its part, the Catalan newspaper Sport wrote on its front page on Saturday that the 33-year-old “intends to arrive today (Saturday) in Barcelona to undergo a medical examination and sign for four years.”

Lewandowski has been defending the Bavarian club since 2014, scoring 344 goals and breaking a large number of records as the top scorer, the most prominent of which was the number of goals in a single season in the German league, where the Pole scored 41 goals in the 2021 season, breaking the record of many years ago: 40 gunners Gerd Müller’s goals in the 1971-1972 season.

In the Champions League, Lewandowski is third in the list of historical scorers of the tournament, sharing it with Real Madrid striker Frenchman Karim Benzema (86 goals each), behind leader Cristiano Ronaldo (140 goals) and the Argentinean. Lionel Messi (125 goals).
