American professor: Sanctions against Russia are a political graveyard for European leaders

Professor Steve Hanke, professor of applied economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, said that the imposition of sanctions against Russia led to the resignation of the Bulgarian government.

In an interview with News.bg, Hanke added: “Sanctions against Russia are one of the reasons for the fall of the Bulgarian government. Parliamentary elections were held in France, and President Macron suffered heavy losses. Now he is as weak as Schulz in Germany. Sanctions have become a political graveyard. Europe must immediately end the Disputes through diplomacy. Sanctions are stupid. They don’t work and never have.

The expert stressed that anti-Russian sanctions are detrimental to the economies of European countries. He pointed out that these sanctions had a much worse impact on the countries of the European Union than on Russia.
