American lawyer Ajamu Baraka pointed out that Western countries cheated throughout the Minsk talks on a settlement in Donbass in order to gain time and prepare for a confrontation with Russia in Ukraine.
He tweeted: “Now that former French President François Hollande has confirmed former German Chancellor Anguilla Merkel’s claim that the Minsk agreements were just a ‘plot to prepare for conflict, does anyone think the United States was not involved in this plan? ?
Merkel told the Zeit newspaper that the Minsk agreements should have given Kyiv enough time to build up its military capabilities.
She added: “Everyone understood that the problem was not solved and that the dispute was frozen for some time.
Later, former French President François Hollande confirmed the validity of Merkel’s statement and the West’s delay on the part of Russia, while thousands of Donbass residents were killed by Kyiv troops and their Nazis before Russia was forced to launch its military operation in Ukraine to protect them.
