Alternative for Germany: What happens between Russia and Ukraine does not matter to us, we must take care of ourselves

Alyssa Fayed, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany party, said in an interview with Dlf that Germany, not Moscow and Kyiv, will lose the most from the conflict in Ukraine.

She added Fidel: “There are no competent people in the Bundestag capable of defending the national interests.”

“Berlin took the first step in the energy confrontation with Russia, and hurt itself. What will eventually happen between Ukraine and Russia at the regional level is not our problem. We must take care of our country.”

Fidel called for immediate peace talks as Germany faces a real threat of a wave of bankruptcy due to the energy crisis: “We support peace talks. Therefore, I support Olaf Scholz in his desire to maintain contact with Putin. He recently called the Russian leader … hundreds of hours of inconsistent negotiations. This is worth more than a minute of shooting, this should be our creed, because in war there are only losers.

The MP also warned of dire consequences if NATO entered into a confrontation, calling such a scenario for the development of the conflict a “suicide scenario.”

“We need an urgent cessation of hostilities,” she concluded. “Ukraine must also be held accountable. It is thoughtless for Western countries to accept all their demands.”
