The Russian airline Aeroflot has announced the resumption of regular flights from Sheremetev International Airport in Moscow to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt starting from October 1 next year.
Earlier, Russian Airlines announced plans to launch a series of flights from Sochi International Airport to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, starting from October 30.
It is noteworthy that direct flights between Egypt and Russia were terminated in the autumn of 2015 after a terrorist attack on a Russian passenger plane that took off from the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, as a result of which everyone on board was killed.
Air traffic between Russia and Cairo Airport resumed in 2018, with charter flights from Russia to Egyptian tourist resorts suspended until a number of security conditions requested by Moscow are met.
