French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna praised the squadron of Algerian fighter jets that escorted French President Emmanuel Macron’s plane as it left Algerian airspace after completing his visit to the country.
On her Twitter account, Catherine Colonna wrote: “Following the signing of the Algiers Declaration by the two heads of state (Algerian Abdelmajid Tebboune and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron), it is an exceptional gesture to escort the aircraft of the President of the Republic leaving Algerian airspace at the end of the visit.”
