President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the heads of parliaments of friendly countries with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, II degree.
Zelensky’s decree on this matter, which was published on the official website on Friday, includes the names of 13 people, including the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
The awards were also presented to the President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher, the speakers of the two houses of the Polish parliament, the speaker of the Senate of Ireland and the speakers of the parliaments of Switzerland, Germany, Norway, North Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia and Estonia.
The decree explains that they were awarded medals in recognition of their “tangible personal contribution to strengthening cooperation between states and supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
Earlier, Zelensky awarded government awards to 109 foreign politicians, public and cultural figures and journalists, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, US Secretary of State and Defense Anthony Blinken and Lloyd Austin, director of Baykar. Turkish drone company Khaluk Bayraktar.
