Zelensky announced the creation "Crimean Advisory Council"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday announced the creation of a “consultative council for the liberation of Crimea.”

“I held a meeting to prepare for the meeting in the format of the Crimean platform, and I look forward to expanding the geography, level and number of participants,” Zelensky said in a video message.

He continued: “Today, the Advisory Council for the Liberation of Crimea from occupation has been established to coordinate all actions and projects in this direction, to support the activities of the Crimean Platform.”

It is noteworthy that the first meeting in the Crimean Platform format took place on August 23, 2021 at the initiative of Ukraine and with the participation of more than 40 countries and international organizations. During which the “restoration of Ukrainian control” over Crimea was discussed.

The Kremlin called the meeting “anti-Russian” and has repeatedly stressed since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 that the region has “returned home forever.”
