Zelensky announced the arrest of Russian assets for $ 765 million

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the confiscation of about $765 million worth of Russian assets, and that more than 900 more objects are subject to arrest.

In a video message, Zelenskiy indicated that he had held a meeting on sanctions and the confiscation of Russian assets, and that officials briefed him on the sources of the 28 billion hryvnia ($765 million) worth of assets.

He added: “This work is ongoing and there is a proposal to confiscate more than 900 Russian state facilities. If we evaluate the property of residents, and not just the (Russian) state, then the list will contain 36,000 objects subject to confiscation.”

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyal said that the government had proposed to the president to confiscate 903 objects of Russian property.

On April 1, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a law on the nationalization of the property of Russian citizens and persons “associated with it”, including all those who refused to condemn the Russian military operation.
