Zamalek coach commented on the defeat of his team by Al-Hilal in the Cup "Super Lusail"

Portuguese coach Josefaldo Ferreira, coach of Zamalek, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his players despite the loss to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the Super Lucille Cup today, Friday.

Zamalek lost the match against Al Hilal on penalties 1–4 after the original time ended in a 1–1 draw.

“It was a difficult match for us and despite that we had many chances to score a goal,” Ferreira said at the post-match press conference. “The same goes for our opponent.”

He added: “We ended the Egyptian league on 30 August and there are players who rested after the end of the season and trained only twice, unlike Al Hilal who was more active and prepared for the meeting.”

He continued: “Al-Hilal’s missed penalty was returned given the progress of Mohamed Awad (Zamalek goalkeeper), but even Al-Hilal’s goalkeeper was also ahead (during one of the shoot-outs).”

Regarding the large number of spectators at Lusil Stadium, where the match was played, the Portuguese coach commented: “Honestly, Zamalek players are not used to playing in front of a large audience in the Egyptian league and that is what made it difficult for us to meet.”

And he continued: “The number of fans in today’s match is ten times more than in the Egyptian league matches in recent years. I hope that we will also have a large number (fans) (in Egypt).”
