Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated that US financial assistance would soon reach an “astronomical amount” of about $26 billion.
“In the near future, the amount of American financial support for the Zelensky regime will reach an astronomical amount of $26 billion, since the inauguration of Biden, Washington has spent more than $14 billion on military needs alone,” Zakharova said today at a press briefing. .
“No amount of money will help the Kyiv regime regain control over people who have chosen freedom over coercion. The Kyiv regime should not rely on outside help and attempts to change the situation inside our country. she added.
She noted that the recently reached agreement in the US Congress on the allocation of new assistance to the Kyiv regime in the amount of $12 billion is another confirmation that the United States has already become a party to the conflict in Ukraine.
Regarding how the money is spent, a Russian official confirmed that most of the money would go to arms purchases and asked: “What (money) goes to (build) schools and hospitals, or a gas pipeline or an oil pipeline? Or buy textbooks? And pay material support the poor and fight the epidemic. No, of course, the lion’s share will again go to the purchase of weapons for Kyiv, and of course those who distribute all this will go through the pockets.
The majority of the population of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in a referendum held from 23 to 27 September 2022 supported joining Russia.
