Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would consider a request from his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, to call him when Lavrov allowed time.
“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will consider this request when time permits. Now he has an extensive schedule of international contacts, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, bilateral meetings,” Zakharova said.
And the US State Department today announced that the United States has sent a formal request to Russia for a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
