The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stressed that the aggressive approach of the European Union in terms of “unbridled expansion” would lead to a split and crises in Europe.
On Friday, Zakharova warned that the approach to granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of European Union candidate countries has the potential to create new and deeper divisions and crises in Europe.
“It is clear that such an aggressive approach on the part of the EU carries with it the possibility of new and deeper lines of division and crises in Europe as a whole. This policy of Brussels has nothing to do with the real needs of the population of Ukraine and the EU countries,” Zakharova said on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
