The Moroccan Football Association has announced that Burnley midfielder Anas Zruri has been called up to the Moroccan national team, which is preparing to participate in the World Cup in Qatar, to replace the injured Amin Harit.

The Moroccan Federation said in a statement posted on its website today Wednesday: “Walid Rekraki, national team coach, has invited Anas Zarruri, a professional from the English Burnley team, to join the national team’s mission in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup . Zruri, 22, a Belgian citizen, represented his national teams in age groups before he decided to wear the colors of the Atlas Lions.

Zaruri will join his new squad in the Emirati city of Sharjah on the sidelines of Thursday’s friendly against Georgia ahead of his participation in the World Cup in a group that includes Croatia, Belgium and Canada.
