Will the Saudi Summer Transfer Market Be Extended for Mohamed Salah and Big Stars?

Saudi Summer Transfer Market and the Possibility of Extending the Transfer Period

Some news has circulated indicating the possibility of extending the Saudi summer transfer market beyond Thursday to give the federation time to include Egyptian Mohamed Salah and a number of big stars.

Sports Journalist Denies Extension of Transfer Period

However, sports journalist Waleed Al-Faraj, in his response to one of his followers, denied the possibility of extending the summer transfer period in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Faraj, in his Action with Waleed program, stated: “The start and end dates of the Saudi Mercato are approved by the International Football Association (FIFA) and it is not possible to change or modify them now. No exceptions for anyone.”

Efforts to Persuade Liverpool

Representatives from Al Ittihad Club and the Saudi Investment Fund are racing against the clock to convince Liverpool to ‘ditch’ the Egyptian star during this summer’s Mercato.

The Federation has made an offer of over £200m to the Reds to include the 31-year-old Salah before the Kingdom transfer window closes tomorrow night, Thursday.

Al Ittihad’s Participation in Club World Cup

Notably, Al Ittihad will take part in the Club World Cup and face New Zealand’s Auckland City in the opening match, provided they set a date with Egypt’s Al Ahli in the second round, if officially eligible.
