Why is the Tunisian nickname Anas Jaber"Minister of Happiness"?

Tunisian Anas Jaber became the first African and Arab player to reach the semifinals of the US Open, the last of four major tennis tournaments, beating Australia’s Ayla Tomljanovic 6-4, 7-6 yesterday.

Why was Anas called the Minister of Happiness?

The title of “Minister of Happiness” was given to Anas by the citizens of her country as a token of sympathy for the joy she brings to her compatriots. The game is played on the brown continent, and some Arab societies claim that women play the sport at a professional level.

Anas is considered the number 1 Tunisian player and the best African and Arab tennis player in the history of the International Tennis Federation and the Women’s Tennis Association.

Anas has won three WTA Tour singles titles in her career and reached the final of Wimbledon, her third Grand Slam last July.

The 28-year-old will face France’s Caroline Garcia in the semi-finals of the US Open in her quest to reach the second Grand Slam final of her professional career.
