A White House press secretary said “Russia can advise Iran on how to deal with the protests” sparked by the death of young Kurdish Mahsa Amini after her arrest by the vice police.
Karen Jean-Pierre said that “the White House is concerned about the possibility that Moscow will advise Iran on how best to deal with the protests, using its extensive experience in suppressing opponents,” she said.
While White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby commented, “They may be thinking of some support to crack down on Iranian protesters.”
He continued: “We are seeing signs that they may be considering training. Unfortunately, Russia has experience,” he said.
