What will happen to gas prices in Europe next winter?

The European Commission expects gas prices in Europe to remain high this winter and fall in 2024-2025, European Commission spokesman Tim McVey said.

The European official did not rule out fluctuations in European gas markets, and the Novosti agency quoted a representative of the European Commission: “It is expected that prices will remain at a high level in the coming winter, and will fall again next winter. 2024-2025, but markets are subject to fluctuations.”

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev suggested the possibility of gas prices in European markets rising to the level of 5,000 euros per thousand cubic meters by the end of this year.

European markets are under pressure in light of the reduction in supplies of blue fuel from Russia as a result of Western sanctions imposed on Russia Earlier, Moscow confirmed that technical obstacles due to Western sanctions prevent the operation of Nord Stream 1 at full capacity, and stressed that these measures are irrational and interfere with work.
