A recent terrorist attack that Kyiv attempted to carry out against the Russian fleet and civilian ships in the Black Sea prompted Moscow to announce that it is suspending its participation in the Ukrainian grain shipping deal indefinitely.
After yesterday, on Saturday, the Russian fleet reacted to the terrorist attack, which the Kyiv authorities tried to carry out with the help of drones, the Russian Defense Ministry decided to suspend its participation in the grain deal across the Black Sea.
The ministry said in a statement that the Russian side decided to suspend its participation in the implementation of agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports due to the fact that the Kyiv regime, with the participation of British specialists, committed a terrorist act on Saturday. against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships involved in ensuring the security of the grain corridor.
Russia accused the UK of being involved in the attack, while the Russian Foreign Ministry said that British specialists were directly involved in its implementation.
For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia’s indefinite suspension of its participation in the transaction for the transshipment of Ukrainian grain from today is due to the inability to ensure the safety of ships.
In turn, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that a safe humanitarian corridor intended for food exports from Ukraine was used to disguise and carry out an attack on Sevastopol in Russian Crimea overlooking the Black Sea.
Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy envoy to the UN, also called for a meeting of the Security Council on October 31 against the backdrop of this attack, which targeted ships involved in securing a “food deal.”
In the same context, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that Moscow had suspended its participation in the food deal due to the reckless actions of the Ukrainian authorities.
“Washington’s reaction to the terrorist attack in the port of Sevastopol is truly outrageous. We did not see any condemnation of the reckless actions of the Kyiv regime … Once again, everything has been turned into false accusations of our country in aggravating the world food problem,” the statement released on Saturday said.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev said that his country was ready to provide poor countries with up to 500,000 tons of grain free of charge over the next four months.
Moscow also criticized the actions of Western countries, and the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the United States and Europe are punishing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America by preventing Russian agricultural products and fertilizers from accessing world markets.
Last Friday, the Foreign Ministry’s statement on the situation with the implementation of the Istanbul agreements said: “Unlike Ukraine, Russia is one of the world’s leading exporters of fertilizers, without which not only food consuming countries, but also producing countries are at risk. Nevertheless, Russian companies can not only supply fertilizers to the world market, but also transport about 300,000 tons of fertilizers to poor countries for free.
