Website "Axios" US: India and China are undermining Western efforts to isolate Russia

The American news site Axios reported that India and China are undermining Western efforts to isolate Russia, including by participating in military exercises with Russia and buying Russian oil.

With tensions escalating between Russia and the West, Beijing has moved closer to Moscow, and India, one of Washington’s most important partners, has taken a neutral stance on the situation in Ukraine and is actively importing Russian oil. However, apart from that, according to the website, this week India will take part in military exercises East 2022 (East 2022), through which “long-term military relations between India and Russia” will be presented, according to the website. The source went on to say that Indian forces would participate “totally” in the maneuvers and not just as an observer.

The Vostok-2022 exercises will be held at 7 training grounds of the Eastern Military District from September 1 to 7 under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces of the Eastern Military District. Armament and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, 60 warships, boats and support ships. The Russian Armed Forces will be represented in the military command and control bodies, air defense forces, parts of the Airborne Forces, long-range transport aviation and military transport aviation, where joint operations of operational control groups, military units and observers from the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Organization will be established cooperation and other partner countries: Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Syria and Tajikistan.
