Today, Friday, US President Joe Biden announced a $100 million donation to hospitals in East Jerusalem, hoping that the amount will bring more attention to the health sector.
Biden said in a statement from the Al-Mutlaa hospital in occupied Jerusalem: “I am an Irish-American and the Irish were also under British occupation. Their story is similar to that of Palestinians working for justice and holding out hope,” stressing that “the United States is committed to supporting the health and dignity of the Palestinian people.”
He stated that “the UAE will contribute $45 million to support the health sector and work with Palestinian and Israeli partners to prosper in the sector.”
