Washington: We will not stop asking Russia to leave the Zaporizhzhya railway station

The State Department confirmed that the United States will continue to demand from Russia a cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of troops from the area of ​​the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the transfer of control over it to Kyiv.

“The United States and other countries will continue to call on Russia to end hostilities near the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant and return control of the plant to Ukraine,” the State Department said in a statement.

Earlier, UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu said that the NPT Review Conference was unable to adopt a final document because of the conflict in Ukraine.

And Andrey Belousov, Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, also noted that Ukraine and Western curators bear full responsibility for the fact that the participants in the NPT Review Conference were unable to adopt the final document.

Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia said that Moscow had distributed photographs to the Security Council and the UN General Assembly showing the bombing of a nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye by Ukrainian troops.
