White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby commented on the first visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Beijing.

Kirby said the United States respects Germany’s right to manage its relationship with China in its own way.

“We generally respect and appreciate Germany’s desire to manage its bilateral relationship with China in a way that seems most appropriate and appropriate,” he said at the briefing.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is on a one-day official visit to China, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
