Washington demands the creation of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

Washington called on Moscow to stop “military operations in and around nuclear plants in Ukraine” and demanded the declaration of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which Ukraine is bombing.

“Fighting near a nuclear plant is dangerous and irresponsible,” the State Department said.

She added: “The United States continues to call on Russia to end all hostilities in and around the nuclear plants and return them to Ukrainian control. They support Ukraine’s calls for a demilitarized zone in and around the nuclear plant.”

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky committed a new act in the category of nuclear terrorism by bombing the infrastructure facilities of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stressed that the Kyiv forces are putting the whole of Europe in “serious danger” by bombing the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
