Washington confirms firm position on participation in the Ukrainian crisis

US Ambassador to NATO Julian Smith said that the alliance should not be directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, and denied the possibility of changing this position.

Smith told the German channel ZDF: “NATO made a very early decision not to go to war, and this position is shared by all 30 members of the alliance, there is individual support from the United States and Germany. economic support, but NATO should not be directly involved, I see no change in this position.”

She added that she does not see within NATO and among allies that anything has changed in their attitude towards the Ukraine crisis, and said: “NATO has made its position clear and we are sticking to it.”
