Sources told the Wall Street Journal that US authorities had stopped a Russian oil tanker bound for the port of New Orleans in Louisiana.
According to the American newspaper, the tanker, named “Daytona”, is owned by the owner of the Greek vessel TMS Tankers Ltd and chartered by the Swiss commodity trading company Vitol.
The data showed the ship set sail from Russia’s Taman Peninsula in the Black Sea in early June, loaded with fuel and gas, and was due to dock in New Orleans on Sunday.
