Von der Leyen: 12 EU countries suffer from shortage of Russian gas

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that 12 EU countries are completely or partially cut off from Russian gas.

“We see this picture not only for the last week and month, but also for the entire past year. If you look at the capacities of Gazprom, they are full or, better, not full,” von der Leyen said at a briefing on Friday. after the EU summit.

She added: “Last year was the lowest level in 10 years for gas storage vacancy. Of course, it must be said that the 12 EU member states are now either completely or partially isolated from Russian gas, noting that the EU is now “hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.”
