Vitoria: I have been a coach for 20 years and I have never seen what is happening in Egypt in my career

Rui Vitoria, the new coach of the Egyptian national team, expressed his joy over the victory of the Pharaohs over Niger in a friendly match held on Friday in Alexandria.

In Niger’s first match for Vitoria, he has been in charge of the technical management of the Egyptian national team since his appointment last July to replace national coach Ihab Galal.

Vitoria said in statements at a press conference after the match against Niger: “The game was good for us, the players performed well and we are not at 100 percent yet, but the level was special.”

He added: “We ran into a team that defended well but we managed to put pressure on them and we got the ball back quickly. Our players were focused throughout the match and were looking for the places we talked about, especially on the flanks. .”

And Vitoria continued: “I was pleased with the dedication of the players, and we spent most of the match in the opponent’s half, using the high pressure method and not letting the opponent reach our goal.”

On the recent crisis between the officials of the Zamalek club and their colleagues from the Egyptian national team against the backdrop of the inclusion of a team of 4 players from Zamalek in their camp in preparation for friendly confrontations between Niger and Liberia, which contradicts the match between Zamalek and Elektom, champion of Chad in the second leg of the 64th round of the African Champions League Vitoria said:
“Zamalek players are returning to us after the match of their team, but most importantly, how to hold an official match during the international break? It is impossible to determine this date of the match.”

The Portuguese coach continued: “We as coaches are looking for solutions to a crisis created by other people. I am the coach of 120 million Egyptians and 18 teams in the Egyptian Premier League. What is happening is unacceptable. I work in this field.” training for 20 years. In my entire training career, I have never seen an official match for a team that is on the agenda of the International.”

The Pharaohs will play another friendly match against Liberia on the 27th of this month.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian national team is preparing for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Côte d’Ivoire next year, and the Pharaohs are currently fourth in Group D with a goal difference of three points, behind leaders Ethiopia, second place Malawi and third Guinea.
