Visit of the Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan to Moscow

Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov said in an interview with Novosti Agency that Afghan Minister of Industry and Trade Nureddin Azizi would arrive in Moscow.

The ambassador indicated that on August 15, the invited minister would hold talks with the Russian side on the purchase of butter, wheat and sunflower oil from Russia.

The Russian Ambassador added: “Negotiations will be held in Moscow on August 15, which will be held by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan with Russian officials. The Afghan side plans to buy oil and other fuels, wheat, flour and sunflower oil from the Russian Federation.”

The ambassador noted that the Afghan delegation also intends to visit Kazan. According to him, “these contacts are necessary and useful for the development of relations between the regions.”

Earlier, the deputy head of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in an interview on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that his country plans to buy two million tons of grain (wheat) and 5,000 tons of oil from Russia.
