Uzbekistan suspends acceptance of Russian bank cards "world"

The Uzbek processing center Uzcard reported that Uzbekistan has suspended the acceptance of Mir cards for technical reasons.

The statement of the center says: “From 9:00 (7:00 Moscow time) on September 23, 2022, the service of Mir cards in the infrastructures of the Uzcard PS and the operation of joint cards with Uzcard badges have been discontinued.”

But she noted that the joint Uzcard-Mir cards operate in the regular mode on the territory of Uzbekistan.

Earlier it was reported that the National Savings Bank of Kazakhstan “Halyk” temporarily suspended the work of Russian Mir cards in ATMs.

The former Turkish banks Ish Bank and Deniz Bank also stopped servicing Russian Mir cards due to sanctions imposed by the United States of America and Great Britain against Russia.

Mir cards are currently approved in 10 countries: Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
