US requested to assist Poland in investigating rocket mishap

Poland has asked the United States for help in investigating an incident when a rocket was found in a forest near the northern city of Bydgoszcz, RMF FM reported.

The radio station said: “Polish services are already cooperating with American agencies in this regard.”

According to RMF FM, the Polish side hopes to receive materials from the United States that will allow them to establish the source of the rocket found near Bydgoszcz.

And the radio added: “There is also talk about determining the trajectory of the missile and the time of the accident, since it is possible that the American infrastructure detected this object.”

On April 27, Polish authorities reported the discovery of the wreckage of an “unidentified military aircraft” near the village of Zamość, about 15 kilometers from Bydgoszcz.

Radio RMF FM reported that it was an air-to-surface missile with inscriptions in Russian. At the same time, the radio reported, citing its own sources, that the “military flying object” was most likely a target launched by the Polish army during the exercises.

For its part, the Onet portal, citing sources in the army, stated that it could be a “Russian missile” launched from a Russian aircraft from the territory of Belarus.
