Carlos Alcaraz beat Francis Tiafoe and Kasper Rode Karen Khachanov on Saturday to set a date in the US Open final, win his first Grand Slam and top the world rankings.
It will be the first final in the United States for the world’s fourth-ranked Spanish Alcaras and the seventh-ranked Norwegian Rod to secure the top two places in the world rankings to be released on Monday.

To seize the opportunity to win his first major career title at the age of nineteen, “phenomenon” Alcaraz had to fight for four hours and 19 minutes to defeat homeowner, American Tiafoe 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, 6-7 and 6-3, after the latter was intoxicated by the quarter-final elimination of first national legend Rafael Nadal.

With the addition of five hours and a quarter of an hour to defeat Italy’s Yannick Sener in an epic quarter-final matchup, the Spaniard spent over nine and a half hours at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in less than two days.
On the other hand, the 23-year-old Rudd calmly passed the obstacle of the Russian Khachanov 7-6, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
