US official: Biden’s visit could lead to steps to normalize relations between Israel and Arab countries

An official in the administration of US President Joe Biden hinted that the latter’s visit to the Middle East next month could lead to steps to normalize relations between Israel and Arab countries.

The Israeli website Walla reports that the Biden administration is concerned that one of the outcomes of the president’s visit to the Middle East will be some progress in expanding the Abrahamic agreements between Israel and the Arab world.

He pointed out that if Biden succeeds, it will be considered an important political achievement for him, which will somewhat ease criticism within the Democratic Party about the problematic meeting of the US president with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, especially since he previously stated that Saudi Arabia Arabia is “outcast” amid the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
