US Lawmakers Urge National Intelligence to Assess Risk of Trump Possession of Secret Documents

Democratic lawmakers are asking Director of National Intelligence Avril Hines to assess whether former President Donald Trump has hurt national security by keeping classified documents at his Florida residence.

This is stated in a message sent by representatives and published on the website of the US Congress.

The letter stated: “We are requesting an immediate investigation and damages assessment of reports that former President Trump obtained and held highly classified information about his personal property… highly classified information… In addition, we request a private briefing for Representatives damage assessment as soon as possible.
