Unprecedented rise in gold prices in Egypt

The price of gold in Egypt rose by 175 to 200 pounds per gram during trading last week.

The highest price per gram of 24 carat gold today, Saturday, was around £1,640, up from £1,440 at the start of trading last week, up by £200.

The price of a gram of 21 carat gold was around £1,435, up from £1,260 in early trading last week, up by £175.

While a gram of 18 carat gold (the average between gold bullets) today, Saturday, reached approximately 1041 pounds.

Today, Saturday, the price of a gram of 14-carat gold was about 957 pounds.
