The price of a pound of gold in Egypt today, on Monday, exceeded 15,000 pounds for the first time in light of the rise in world prices for gold against the backdrop of the collapse of the US Silicon Valley bank.
The gold arm of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce said the price of a gram of gold reached £15,120 this afternoon as the global price of gold surged amid investors seeking safe havens following the collapse of the US banking sector and the collapse of Silicon Valley.
The price of a gram of 24 carat gold was fixed at 2148 pounds per gram, while the price of a gram of 21 carat gold fixed the level of 1880 pounds per gram, and the price of a gram of 18 carat gold in Egypt reached 1611 pounds per gram.
