Ukrainian President Zelensky Decides on Artemivsk After Meeting With Military Leaders

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting at the headquarters of the Supreme Commander of Ukraine and decided to continue to hold Artemivsk (Bakhmut), Zelensky’s office reports.

“Given the course of the defensive operation in the direction of Bakhmut, all members of the headquarters expressed a unified position regarding the continuation of the defense of the city of Bakhmut,” reads a letter posted on the website of Zelensky’s office.

For his part, Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Sersky said yesterday, on Monday, that the situation on the line of contact in the Artemivsk region “is still difficult.”

The fighters of the Wagner group reported that the Ukrainian army had destroyed almost all the bridges on the outskirts of Artemivsk.

Artemivsk is located in the Kyiv-controlled part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, north of the large city of Horlivka. And Artyomovsk is an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian group of troops in the Donbass. According to the latest reports, Russian forces have cut all paved roads leading to the city or controlled the fire, and the mudflow process has become very difficult to deliver ammunition to Ukrainian forces.
