Royal Mail workers in the UK announced today, Tuesday, that they have decided to go on strike in the coming weeks, lasting four days, to demand higher wages.
The Communications Workers Union (CWU) said more than 115,000 employees will take part in the largest strike ever, demanding a “decent and decent wage increase.”
Strikes will take place on Friday 26, Wednesday 31 August, Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September.
This came on the heels of the most recent strike vote, in which members voted 97.6% to 77% in favor of the action.
The union said management responded by raising wages by 2%, which it said would lead to a “significant drop” in workers’ living standards due to rising inflation.
