UAE leads the way in foreign direct investment returns

According to data published by the British magazine ‘FD Intelligence’, the UAE is ranked eighth in the world in recovering foreign direct investment from the economic impact caused by the Corona virus outbreak.

In monitoring the level of FDI recovery, the magazine relied on comparing the number of brand new FDI-funded projects in the first half of 2022 with their number for the same period in 2021 in each country. The growth rate in the UAE reached 57.89% and it was the eighth highest growth percentage in the world.

The trade magazine also reported that the UAE leads the Gulf in terms of absolute growth in the number of brand new projects funded by foreign direct investment during the first half of this year. The number of brand new projects financed by foreign direct investment in the country reached 292 in the first half of the year, compared to 185 projects in the first half of 2021.
