The UAE has announced the issuance of entry visas to those who have tickets to the World Cup in neighboring Qatar.
The UAE said in a statement that “holders of the Qatar (Haya) card to attend the 2022 World Cup matches will be able to apply for a multiple-entry visa up to 19 days before the start of the tournament.”
Those who have received a visa will be able to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days.
Many fans plan to settle in the United Arab Emirates and neighboring countries for the month-long tournament, and organizers expect heavy pressure to stay in tiny Qatar, which has never hosted an event of this magnitude.
Hotels in Dubai’s tourist hub say some fans are booking rooms and planning to fly to matches.
Dozens of flights will depart daily from the UAE to the host city of Doha.
